Pigpen (Ron McKernan) Discography
This is a discography of recordings that include Pigpen. The discography is presented with titles grouped according to the type of recording.
Pigpen was a founder member of the Grateful Dead. He performed and recorded with the Dead from 1965 through to June 1972 when failing health finally prevented him from performing.
Though recording sessions for at least one solo Pigpen album took place no such album was ever released. Some songs from these sessions circulate on tape. Sadly therefore Pigpen's appearances on recordings are restricted to his studio and live sessions with the Grateful Dead and one archive release of a live show by the pre-Dead group Mother McCree's Uptown Jug Champions.
