Acoustic Disc Discography
Acoustic Disc was started in 1990 by David Grisman as an outlet for his and other acoustic music. By 2002 the label had release 50 CDs including David Grisman Quintet and other project releases, a series of archive albums and 3 CDs in the Tone Poems series, music from specific genres played on vintage guitars and mandolins. Every eighth release on the label to date has been a sampler which provides one or two track from the previous seven releases plus one or two unreleased tracks.
All the Garcia/Grisman CDs were released on the label. David Grisman has acknowledged in interviews that the success of the first Garcia / Grisman CD in 1991 helped finance the release of further albums that were less likely to be financially successful. There have also been two archive live recording of Old & In The Way on the label.
All Acoustic Disc releases are graced with excellent sound quality and informative, and often lengthy, CD booklets.
