Legion Of Mary

Legion Of Mary was the group name used by the final line-up of the Jerry Garcia / Merl Saunders band in 1975. The core members of the group, Garcia, Saunders and John Kahn, had been performing together since 1971. See the Garcia/Saunders band page for information about earlier versions of the group. It's thought that the first time the Legion Of Mary name was used officially was in January 1975. The group played between January and July 1975 after which time the Jerry Garcia Band became the main Garcia performing group when the Grateful Dead were off the road.
