The song is attributed to Lightnin' Hopkins on the Garcia recordings but the origins of the song pre-date Hopkins. Sleepy John Estes is credited on many recordings. On other recordings writing credits are often given to the particular performer on the recording. The list of recordings below covers a group of related songs rather than the exact song as performed by Garcia. Early versions, including all by Sleepy John Estes, are often called Someday Baby Blues. The song Trouble No More is a reworking of Someday Baby Blues but this falls outside the scope of this page.
