Great American Music Hall Discography
This is a discography of albums recorded at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. The Great American Music Hall at 859 O'Farrell Street was built in 1907. For the first 25 years of its existence it was a restaurant and bordello named Blanco's. From 1936 through 1945 the buiding was home to the Music Box nighclub. The Blanco's name was revived in 1948 when the venue was reopened as a jazz club. In the following years the building was used as a Moose Lodge and a French restaurant. The building reopened in 1972 as the Great American Music Hall and has remained a music venue to the present day. The Grateful Dead performed only once at the venue in 1975, a show which was subsequently the first "From The Vault" release. Various Jerry Garcia bands performed at the GAMH. For more information about the venue and its current activities see the Great American Music Hall website.
