Credits on recordings are usually Little Walter or Walter Jacobs. Little Walters given name was Marion Walter Jacobs. On a few recordings the song is credited as Traditional.

Originally recorded by Little Walter, with the Muddy Waters band (Muddy Waters, Jimmy Rogers and Elga Edmunds) in the Spring of 1952. It was released as a single on the Chess subsidiary label, Checker.
