Rex Foundation Awards
There are three annual Rex Foundation awards.Ralph J. Gleason Award
The Rex Foundation established the Ralph J. Gleason Award in 1986 for outstanding contributions to culture. The award is named in memory of the pioneering jazz and pop music journalist Ralph J. Gleason (1917-1975).
Jerry Garcia Award
In 1996 the Rex Foundation established the Jerry Garcia Award in memory of Grateful Dead guitarist and founding Rex board member Jerry Garcia (1942-1995). This award is designed to honor and support individuals and groups that work to encourage creativity in young people.
Bill Graham Award
Named in memory of pioneering promoter and producer and founding Rex board member Bill Graham this award is for those working to assist children who are victims of political oppression and human rights violations.
