Rex Foundation Awards, Grants and Discography
The Foundation provides funding to a wide range of local, national and international groups from environmental, social and community services to the arts and cultural preservation. Between 1984 and 2005 the foundation has awarded over $8 million of grants. A summary of the awards and grants provided by the foundation is given in the first section. For more information and to support the Rex Foundation go to the Rex Foundation web site.
A part of this funding has been given to either active musicians and composers or to societies and researchers who support composers and musicians. This funding in some cases has led to the release of a number of recordings. The second part of this page is a discography that documents these recordings. The discography is presented with titles grouped by the musicians/composer involved.
The Rex Foundation is named after Rex Jackson, a Grateful Dead roadie and later road manager until his untimely death in 1976.
