The Open Theater, Berkeley

The Open Theater, located at 2976 College Avenue, in Berkeley opened in 1965 as a experimental theater and performance art venue. The theater started to put on music events at the start of 1966. It was the location of the first publicly advertised Big Brother and The Holding Company show. The theater closed sometime during 1966.
