Jerry Garcia played at The Village with Merl Saunders in 1972 and 1973.

In the early 1980's the same building was the brief base for the relocated Boarding House. Later in the 1980's it became Bal Tabarin and Wolfgang's. The latter closed after a fire in 1987. The 7th Note jazz club opened in the building in 1990 and in 2003 it became Cobb's Comedy Club.
