The Cushing Memorial Theater / Mountain Theater / Mt. Tamalpais Amphitheatre

The Cushing Memorial Theater, often referred to as The Mountain Theater or Mt. Tamalpais Amphitheatre, is on open air amphitheater on the slopes of Mt. Tamalpais. The theater was built in the 1930s and holds approximately 3,750 people. The Mountain Play is performed each spring at the theater.

The venue was used for a number of music events in the 1960s. The Grateful Dead played there in October 1966. The theater was the site of the Fantasy Fair and Magic Mountain Music Festival on June 10th and 11th in 1967.
