BK3 / Bill Kreutzmann Trio / Kreutzmann, Burbridge, Murawski Trio
Bill Kreutzmann, Scott Murawski (of Max Creek) and Mike Gordon (of Phish) performed together as a trio at a benefit concert in early 2008. Following this show Kreutzmann and Murawski decided to form a permanent trio but Gordon was unable to commit to this due to other projects. Oteil Burbridge (of the Allman Brothers Band) was invited to join the group.
The trio toured in the Summer of 2008. They were usually referred to as the Kreutzmann, Burbridge, Murawski Trio or the Bill Kreutzmann Trio though the name was sometimes shortened to KBM. In 2009 they adopted the name BK3. James Hutchison replaced Oteil Burbridge for shows in 2009. The group played a few shows in 2010 this time with Oteil Burbridge replacing Hutchinson.
