The movie was directed by George Englund and stars John Rubinstein, Barry Melton, Patricia Quinn, Don Johnson, Country Joe McDonald, Elvin Jones, Doug Kershaw, William Challee, Dick Van Patten. Other musicians featured in the film include the rest of Country Joe & The Fish, The James Gang and the New York Rock Ensemble.

It was reported in an article in Circus 4.4 in March 1970 that the Grateful Dead were due to be members of the cast of this movie.
