This documentary about the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album and the "Summer of Love" includes a brief piece of film of the Grateful Dead playing at the Human Be-in on January 14, 1967.

The documentary was directed by John Sheppard and first shown on Granada Television in the UK in 1987 and on PBS in the US.

Derek Taylor who was a press agent for the Beatles and other groups was a consultant for the programme and subsequently produced a book with the same title which utilised material from the documentary including interviews with Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Mick Jagger, Ken Kesey, Allen Ginsburg, Timothy Leary, Michelle Phillips, Hunter Thompson and Wavy Gravy.
