The movie was directed by Philip Kaufman and stars Donald Sutherland, Brooke Adams, Jeff Goldblum, Leonard Nimoy, and Veronica Cartwright

The movie has been released on video and DVD. The DVD release includes a full-length audio commentary by Philip Kaufman, a "pod culture" retrospective, Body Snatchers trivia, production notes, and the original theatrical trailer.
