Farm Aid III

The third Farm Aid show was held at the Memorial Stadium, Lincoln, Nebraska on September 19, 1987. The show was broadcast nationally.

The Grateful Dead did not perform at the show but three songs (I Need A Miracle, Maggie's Farm and Black Peter) from their September 19, 1987 show at Madison Square Gardens were broadcast live at the event via a satellite feed. Bob Weir made an announcement to the crowd about Farm Aid before Maggie's Farm.

Performers at the event included Alex Harvey, Emmylou Harris, Steppenwolf, Vince Gill, Lyle Lovett, John Denver, Lou Reed, John Mellencamp, Neil Young, Bandaloo Doctors, Joe Walsh and Willie Nelson.
