To relieve pressure on the crowd at the front of a venue ("to stop them being bug-eyed"), the Grateful Dead repeatedly exhort the crowd to "Take A Step Back". This happened at a number of shows usually to some form of musical accompaniment. To date only one of these occurences has appeared on an official release.
