Bob Weir sat in with The Sensitive Ones during a performance of the song Stay at the Shoreline Amphitheatre on September 18, 1999. The Sensitive Ones were a group, put together for one short tour, that included Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Shawn Colvin, Bruce Hornsby, David Lindley & Wally Ingram.

The Sensitive Ones version of Stay was a mix of the original Maurice Williams version of the song and the version recorded by Jackson Browne in the 1970s that had revised lyrics.

Stay was written in 1953 when Maurice Williams was 15 but not recorded until 1960. It was released as a single by Maurice Williams And The Zodiacs in August 1960 and reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in November 1960.
