Composer: Jeffrey Bowen / Al Boyd / Eddie Hazel

Shakey Ground has been performed by Further, Bob Weir solo, Ratdog, Dead & Company and Bob Weir And Wolf Bros. The song often appears on setlists as Standing On Shaky Ground or just Shaky Ground. The Shakey Ground spelling is used here as that is the spelling on the original Temptations single.

The song was first recorded by the Temptations in 1974 and released on the album A Song For You in January 1975 and on a single in February 1975. The single version reached number one in the soul charts in April 1975.

The song has subsequently been recorded by a number of other performers.
