Monroe's Hornpipe
Composer: Bill Monroe

This instrumental was performed by Old & In The Way in 1973.

Monroe's Hornpipe was recorded by Bill Monroe in March 1958 though it had been in his repertoire for some time before that. This recording was not released until its inclusion on the Bluegrass Instrumentals album in 1965. It has been suggested that Monroe's Hornpipe is derived from a tune called Big-Eyed Rabbit.
