The title used on Grateful Dead set lists and tapes is usually It's A Sin. However the full title on the Jimmy Reed recording is I Know It's A Sin. Dick's Picks 26 and the George Thorogood recording gives writers as J. Reed / M. Reed. However a recent re-release of Rockin' With Reed credits Jimmy Reed as sole composer.

The version of this song in the All Good Things box set is a previously unreleased take from the recording sessions for the 1974 Jerry Garcia solo album, Garcia (Compliments). This version is given the full title of the song I Know It's A Sin
