The Genetic Method was played by Phil Lesh and the The Midnight Ramble Band in 2022.

The Genetic Method grew out of Garth Hudson organ introduction to the song Chest Fever. It was not listed as a separate piece of music until the early 1970s It was first released with the Genetic Method title, credited to Garth Hudson, on the Rock of Ages album in 1972.

Other recordings

Some covers of Chest Fever include an organ introduction but, at least on the examples I have heard, it is always quite short and is not listed as The Genetic Method.
