The Grateful Dead performed Down In The Bottom nine times between November 1984 and June 1985. The song was also played by Jerry Garcia with Pete Sears, Nick Gravenites and Animal Mind at the Brian Wilson Defense Committee benefit in San Francisco on April 29, 1990.

There are earlier songs usually with the title Meet Me In The Bottom or similar. Some of these are fairly similar to the Willie Dixon Down In The Bottom, others are quite different. It is possible that Dixon based his song on an earlier song or songs. Only recordings using the Down In The Bottom title are listed below.
