Blind John was first released on the Mickey Hart album Rolling Thunder and on an associated single. Grace Slick and Paul Kantner contribute to that recording which probably explains why the song was performed by Jefferson Airplane in 1972. It was subsequently released on a Jefferson Airplane archive live release.
